Credit Genie App Not Loading or Crashing
If the Credit Genie app crashes on launch or displays a blank screen, start with these steps. Force-close the app completely and reopen it. If the issue persists, clear the app cache (Android: Settings → Apps → Credit Genie → Storage → Clear Cache). On iPhone, delete and reinstall the app. Ensure your device is running iOS 14+ or Android 8.0+ and that you have a stable internet connection.
Bank Connection Failed or Disconnected
The most common issue users face is a failed or dropped bank connection through Plaid. This can happen when your bank changes its security protocols, your bank login credentials change, or Plaid experiences temporary outages. To fix this, go to Settings → Linked Accounts → Disconnect, then re-link your account with your current bank credentials. If your bank recently updated its mobile app or website, wait 24 hours and try again.
Application Denied — Why and What to Do
If your Cash Boost application was denied, the system found one or more issues with your banking profile. Common reasons include insufficient direct deposit history (under $750/month over 90 days), recent overdraft charges, inconsistent income patterns, or residing in an excluded state (CT, MD, NV, HI, DC). You can reapply once per day — each application re-evaluates your most recent 90 days of banking activity.
Funds Not Received After Approval
If your Cash Boost was approved but funds have not arrived, check which delivery method you selected. Standard Delivery takes 1-3 business days via ACH transfer — weekends and bank holidays are not business days. Express Delivery should arrive same-day if requested before 3 PM ET on a business day. Instant Delivery (debit card) typically arrives within 30 minutes but can take up to 2 hours during high volume periods.
Credit Genie Shows $0 Available
A $0 available balance means the system has determined you are not currently eligible for a Cash Boost. This typically occurs after a missed repayment, a recent decrease in direct deposit amounts, a new bank connection that lacks 90 days of history, or excessive overdraft activity. Continue building positive banking behavior and check back in 1-2 pay cycles.
Charged $4.99 But Cannot Access Cash Boost
The $4.99 bank connection fee is charged monthly to maintain your linked account — it is separate from Cash Boost eligibility. Being charged does not guarantee approval. If you no longer want to use the service, disconnect your bank in Settings to stop the monthly charge.
